Below you’ll find an overview of the different yoga styles I offer on Curaçao, both for regular group classes and private sessions. This way, you can discover which style best suits you, your location, studio, or organisation. If you have any questions or would like to discuss which type of class is the best fit, feel free to get in touch with me.
Yoga Flow
Flow (Vinyasa Yoga) is an active, dynamic form of yoga. You move from one posture to the next in sync with your breath, creating a smooth, flowing sequence. You build strength and endurance, improve flexibility, and deepen your body awareness. The classes are suitable for both beginners and more experienced yogis, with a focus on technique, safety, and a gradual build-up. By consciously connecting breath and movement, you create a form of moving meditation, learning to step out of your head and become more present in your body.
Each class begins with a short meditation and breathing exercise to help you settle onto your mat. We gradually build up the flow and end with calming stretches and a relaxing savasana. You’ll leave the class feeling relaxed and recharged.
Hatha (Flow)
Hatha Flow is an accessible, slightly slower-paced form of yoga that involves moving through short sequences of poses. Unlike Vinyasa, you hold each posture for about five breaths, giving you more time to settle into the pose and feel your body.
This style is less static than traditional Hatha Yoga, yet calm and focused, with plenty of attention to breath and alignment. You’ll build strength, flexibility, and body awareness while cultivating relaxation and concentration. The classes are very suitable for beginners, as there is more time to properly learn the poses, but they are also valuable for advanced practitioners seeking a mindful, slower-paced class. Each class starts with a moment of meditation and breath awareness and ends with soothing stretches and a relaxing savasana, leaving you grounded and refreshed.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a calm, meditative style of yoga where poses are held for longer periods, typically 3 to 5 minutes. This helps release tension in the muscles, connective tissues, joints, and deeper layers of the body. The focus is on letting go, finding softness and stillness in the postures, and gently opening the body.
Yin Yoga invites acceptance, surrender, and self-awareness, making it ideal for reducing stress and cultivating inner peace.
Props such as bolsters, blocks, and blankets are used to support your body. Each Yin class begins with meditation and breathwork (pranayama) to help you arrive and ends with a calming savasana and a gentle touch, so you leave the mat with a quiet mind and a relaxed body.
Yin Yang Yoga
Yin Yang Yoga blends the gentle, long-held stretches of Yin Yoga with the active, energising movements of Yang Yoga (Flow or Hatha).
The first part of the class helps you warm up with dynamic postures that build strength and energy. The second part shifts into stillness, with deeper stretches that help you release tension and rest. This balance of effort and ease helps improve flexibility, build strength, and promote a sense of harmony between body and mind.
It’s a great practice for anyone seeking both movement and restoration in one session.
Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga is a deeply soothing, healing form of yoga. With the support of cushions, blankets, and other props, you rest in fully supported poses for extended periods of time. This encourages the body and nervous system to relax completely, allowing deep rest and recovery from stress, fatigue, or illness.
These sessions are perfect if you’re looking to recharge in a gentle, nurturing environment. Each class begins quietly and closes with a long relaxation, so you leave feeling calm, restored, and grounded.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is a guided meditation and relaxation technique that takes you into a state between wakefulness and sleep. Without moving, you’re gently guided to release tension, find deep relaxation and expand your awareness. Yoga Nidra helps reduce stress and insomnia, enhances concentration, and offers a sense of renewal and clarity.
It’s suitable for everyone and can be practised on its own or combined with other yoga styles such as Yin or Restorative Yoga.
